Functional neurological disorder (कार्यात्मक तंत्रिका संबंधी विकार)

Functional neurological disorder (FND) is a condition in which patients experience neurological symptoms, such as weakness, movement disorders, sensory disturbances, or seizures, that are not explained by traditional neurological or medical conditions.

FND is thought to arise from abnormalities in the functioning of the nervous system rather than structural damage. It is often triggered by physical or emotional stressors. Symptoms of FND can be debilitating and may significantly impact a person’s quality of life.

Diagnosis of FND is made based on clinical evaluation and the exclusion of other possible neurological or medical causes. Treatment for FND typically involves a multidisciplinary approach, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and psychotherapy.

The goal of treatment is to help patients manage their symptoms, improve their functioning, and enhance their quality of life. While FND can be challenging to diagnose and treat, many patients experience improvement with appropriate care and support.
